Mistras Group, Inc. is hiring Pipeline Inspectors/NDE II Technicians for work in North Slope, AK.

The Pipeline Inspectors are responsible for performing piping walk-downs, identify inspection locations, and perform visual inspections as identified or requested by the client. Perform NDE as directed and the removal of corrosion by-product by grinding and blending. The work schedule will be a rotational hitch of 21 days on followed by 21 days off. Daily work shifts will be 12 hours.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

5 years’ experience performing NDE
API 570, UTT II, MT II and PT II
Ability to read P&ID’s
Ability to follow and draft standard piping isometric drawings
Strong understanding of NDT techniques, applications, and limitations
Ability to prepare and review formal inspection reports
Strong computer skills (MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook and trainable in “database” programs)
Current level I or higher Rope Access certification (IRATA or SPRAT) or willingness to obtain
Basic understanding of damage mechanisms associated with upstream operations
Willingness to perform grinding and buffing on pipelines and a basic understanding of Acid Etching.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS:

Frequent lifting up to 30 lbs.
Must be able to tolerate working in extreme climates (subzero temperatures) for extended periods of time
Must be able to tolerate numerous hours spent stooping, crawling, kneeling, standing and walking.
Must be comfortable working in cramped or confined spaces.
Must wear required protective and safety equipment (cold weather gear, safety glasses, hard hats, etc.)
