We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced professional who enjoys working in a multinational environment to join our Sensor & Measurement Technology team. We develop state-of-the-art sensors and measurement methods for NDT Global’s in-line pipeline inspection services. This involves experimental work and the use of state of the art simulation software. Our work also includes developing signal processing and data visualization for research purposes and prototyping data analysis software. In order to develop the next generation of inspection services and improve existing sensors and methods, our team aims to further advance the use of quantitative non-destructive evaluation methods. Accordingly, the role and responsibilities will be as follows:
o Technical project member on R&D projects
o Design, implement and perform experiments in a dedicated laboratory
o Design and run simulations/models
o Carry out analysis of experimental and/or simulation results
o Develop algorithms and procedures for pipeline data analysis
o Develop visualization tools for data analysis
o Provide detailed technical support to commercial projects
o Maintain documentation in accordance with NDT Global quality system.
Qualifications and Education
• Minimum of a Master’s degree, possibly a PhD, in acoustics, physics, electrical engineering or related field
• Work experience in a relevant industry or R&D environment
• Experience in one or more fields of acoustics and/or ultrasonics:
o Application of acoustic/ultrasonic techniques,
o Experience with acoustic/ultrasonic experiments,
o Guided wave application would be an advantage
o Knowledge of piezoelectric transducer fundamentals
o Modelling of piezoelectric transducers and non-destructive testing scenarios based on ultrasound would be an advantage.
• Fluent in English is a must, Norwegian would-be a plus
• Advanced MATLAB or Python skills
