Manufacturing Engineer – Non-destructive examination
Location: Derby with flexible working

The Job:
Reporting to the Chief Manufacturing Engineer you will work with the team that is
responsible for the design, development and delivery of manufacturing methods,
capabilities, and factory solutions pertaining to non-destructive examination.
Primarily responsible for non-destructive examination projects to ensure they deliver
the full capability to meet all products and business requirements across the
manufacture of pressure vessels, plant module and power generation products.
You will lead the non-destructive examination engineering activities involving
welding qualifications and continuous improvement activities, acting as the technical
expert providing expertise and knowledge to the wider teams.
Responsible for the design, development, justification, and application
of high integrity inspection techniques.
Translation of drawings and design requirements into NDE requirements
and development of the method of qualification in line with the relevant
codes and standards.
Working across a range of areas, you will be involved in the testing of high
integrity components through all stages of life.
Operate as part of a close-knit team with technical excellence and customer
satisfaction high on the agenda and be responsible for developing and
implementing new methods of non-destructive examination.
The Person:
Competent in developing a justifying inspection techniques.
Experience working within an engineering business familiar with the
manufacture of nuclear heavy industry product (or similar high regulation
industries).
Knowledge and demonstrated experience meeting nuclear regulations
and codes preferred (e.g. ASME).
Proven ability to plan projects and programmes
Professional qualifications in NDT are highly beneficial (e.g. PCN, SNT,
ASNT, MIPS, GUIDE), eg PCN Level 2 or 3 in Ultrasonic Testing, Liquid
Penetrant, Magnetic Particle, Radiography
