Where are the richest oil fields located in Kazakhstan?
The largest oil reserves in the northern Caspian Sea are in Kazakh territory. There are three main oil fields: 1) Tengiz; 2) Karachaganak; and 3) Kashagan in the Caspian Sea. Kazakhstan is one of the few places where major oil discoveries are still being made.
