I have a doubt about in echoes.if I get a backwall echo in v1 block at 25mm and the second backwall Is at 50mm. Now I’m scanning in a workpiece which has thickness of 50mm and the backwall is 50,100,150.if I’m getting a defect at 20mm in 50mm workpiece then 1st defect echo is at 20mm and second echo on 70mm.why it’s not comming in 40 mm?

It depends on the shape of the reflector. If it’s large and flat, facing your probe, then you’re likely to see echoes at 20, 40, 60 etc as you suggest.

But if it’s small and/or irregular, you may not get a second echo from it directly.
