Interested in non-destructive testing as a career
Hi everyone, I recently heard about this transaction through a family member. I have been studying it for the past few days, but I have some concerns. It seems that there are not many opportunities. I worked in different construction related jobs in the first 5 years after graduating from high school. I am currently in the trade union industry and do not like my position or industry.
NDT sounds like an interesting and exciting deal that can provide a high-paying future. I am looking for something atypical and exciting like non-destructive testing. Now I have a few questions about this transaction, and I appreciate any reply.
1. How many buildings, equipment use, manual and power tool use, and general labor can I find in this industry every day? I prefer mostly hands-on work.
2. How long does it take to reach level 1 technology? Can I count on my first two years in this industry to make livable money? Livable means more than $20 an hour
3. How long does it take to become a Level 3 technician and what is the class time?
4. What kind of environment can I work in? Will any aspect of this transaction keep me out often?
5. Finally, how much does it cost to pass all certifications?
Thank you once again
