Group Description
Welcome to [NDT Inspection Portal]’s welding group, a place for professionals to connect and discuss the latest techniques and technologies in welding.
Welding is a specialized field within manufacturing, construction, and engineering that involves the use of heat, pressure, or a combination of both to join or cut materials, such as metal, plastic, and composite materials. Welding is a critical aspect of many industries and is used in the production of a wide range of products, including automobiles, airplanes, ships, bridges, buildings, and infrastructure.
Welding involves the use of specialized equipment, such as welding torches, electrodes, and filler materials, to create a bond between two or more materials. It requires a high level of skill and training, as welders must be able to accurately follow blueprints and understand the properties and behavior of different materials under various conditions. Welding is often regulated by codes and standards, such as the American Welding Society’s (AWS) D1.1 Structural Welding Code – Steel, to ensure the safety and reliability of welded structures and components.
