I am seeking info regarding the indications shown in the image.

This is a training test piece for MT; however, I have also observed similar indications when testing aircraft bolts and other components (strut fittings, etc). They are straight, linear with no visible indication under a microscope.

I am looking to see what is causing these indications.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
