About this equipment
Intrinsically safe ultrasonic wall-thickness gauge made by Cygnus Instruments and rented by Metesco from its office in Kelkheim, Germany. Certified for ATEX Zone 0, it is used on ship hulls, tankers, chemical plants, mines and road tankers where steel must be measured through paint or corrosion. Three echo modes, live A-scan and B-scan displays and a 10,000-reading logger are built in, and data is exported with the supplied Cyglink software. Renters pick between two Ex-rated probes. The page takes hire dates and an enquiry; Metesco then sends a quote and rental contract, ships by UPS or FedEx, and the customer returns the gauge by courier.
