NDI Level 2

Airbus Aerosystems Kinston is hiring an NDI Level 2 technician for its Kinston, North Carolina plant. The technician uses ultrasonic methods, including through-transmission and pulse-echo linear array, to confirm parts meet customer engineering requirements, and coaches Level 1 technicians. An ultrasonic Level II certification backed by 80+ classroom hours and 800 documented hours of NDI work is required.

What the job involves

• Set up and standardise NDI equipment, process parts, accept or reject them and record results
• Inspect with UT, including through-transmission and pulse-echo linear array
• Run system performance checks and develop in-process techniques from approved procedures
• Guide trainees and help Level 1 technicians reach Level 2
• Audit NDI processes, raise non-conformances and take part in audits and RCCA events
• Work independently during nights, weekends and holidays when required

What you need

• 80+ hours of documented formal classroom NDI training including ultrasonics
• 800 hours of documented NDI experience
• Ultrasonic Level II certification
• Authorized to work in the US (no visa sponsorship)
• Able to work at heights up to 40 ft and operate lifts and forklifts

• 100% onsite; direct hire
• About 5% domestic or international travel
• Safety glasses, bump cap and safety-toed shoes on the production floor
