What Do You Usually Do When Parts Don't Pass Quality Control?
From time to time, we come across parts during manufacturing that don't quite meet the required specifications. In some cases, they can be corrected through rework, but in others, scrapping them might be the only option. Figuring out the best approach can sometimes be a challenge.
I'm curious how other manufacturers deal with these situations. Do you have a dedicated Material Review Board (MRB) that evaluates nonconforming parts, or are these decisions usually handled by the quality department? How do you decide whether reworking a part is worth the cost compared to replacing it?
I recently found this article while looking into the topic: https://theindustrialist.net/what-is-mrb-in-manufacturing/
It would be interesting to hear about your experiences and how these decisions are handled in your day-to-day production.
