GE Aerospace is hiring a Level 2 X-ray technician at its Piedmont site in Greenville, South Carolina, where the job is examining turbine airfoils, including high-pressure blades, for aircraft engines. The technician runs digital radiography and computed tomography, interprets images against blueprints and specifications and performs radiation safety surveys. A current NAS 410 radiography Level 2 backed by 80 classroom hours and 800 hours of RT experience is required.

What the job involves

Carry out DR and CT inspections of turbine airfoils in a high-volume production setting
Evaluate images against blueprints, process specifications and work instructions
Record findings and archive inspection history
Complete daily equipment set-ups and quality checks
Perform radiation surveys and annual radiation safety training

What you need

High school diploma or GED
Current radiography Level 2 to NAS 410, with at least 80 hours of classroom training and 800 hours of RT experience
Pass written general, specific and practical exams
Preferred: digital radiography certification, DR experience on cast airfoils and 2+ years in manufacturing
Must be a US person (citizen, permanent resident, asylee or refugee) for export-controlled work
Drug screen where applicable

Pay and conditions

Shift options: weekday nights Monday to Thursday 9:00 pm-7:12 am, or Friday to Sunday day or night shifts
$5,000 sign-on bonus after 90 days, shift premiums and guaranteed pay progression
