Siemens Energy's Gas Services business is hiring an NDT engineer and inspector in China (listed for Shanghai, with Chengdu, Sichuan also named) within its global purchasing organisation. The role performs non-destructive testing on generator, gas turbine and steam turbine components, usually at supplier premises, reviews documentation and drives corrective action with suppliers. Applicants need a quality, manufacturing or engineering background, basic NDT knowledge, business-fluent English and willingness to travel.

What the job involves
- Plan, carry out and close out NDT on distributed gas engine parts
- Test generator and turbine components against specifications, mostly at suppliers' sites
- Review inspection documentation technically and formally, and explain any deviations from supplier results
- Analyse data from automated NDT and forging records captured at suppliers
- Qualify and develop suppliers and drive corrective and preventive actions
- Apply supplier quality methods and risk management with a global team
What you need
- Technical education or work history in quality, manufacturing or engineering
- Prior work in QC, supplier quality management, inspection or process management
- Basic NDT knowledge and interest in growing into NDT audits and process assurance
- Familiar with root cause analysis; 5 Why, FMEA, 8D or RCA skills are a plus
- Business-fluent English
- Willing to travel within China and abroad
