StandardAero is hiring an NDT Level II inspector for CFM56 engine work in Dallas, Texas. Using penetrant, magnetic particle, eddy current, radiographic and visual methods, the inspector checks gas turbine engine parts and components during overhaul and records the results in line with the Repair Station Manual, FAA regulations and OEM data. Applicants need prior Level II certification, completed on-the-job training in MPI and FPI, and must be certifiable under NAS 410.

What the job involves

  • Perform assigned NDT inspections to StandardAero procedures and produce FAA-compliant records such as Form 337s
  • Calibrate and set up equipment, ready components for inspection and do daily equipment checks
  • Confirm all required inspections (preliminary, progressive, hidden damage and final) are done and documented before release
  • Inspect every overhauled or repaired engine, accessory and component (NDT and in-process checks) ahead of shipping
  • Plan workload with production and engineering to hit schedules, and mentor or instruct other NDT staff
  • Review published technical data, revise NDT procedures when needed, support salvage schemes and stop unairworthy parts from being released
  • Contribute to warranty reviews and write investigation and production reports

What you need

  • High school diploma; associate or bachelor's degree in quality or aerospace fields, or equivalent vocational or government training
  • Previous Level II certifications
  • Completed on-the-job training program in MPI and FPI
  • Pass general, specific and practical exams in MPI or penetrant (80% average, no single score below 70%) and be certifiable under NAS 410
  • Able to interpret technical manuals, service bulletins and work instructions; ISO 9000 knowledge; authorized to work in the US
  • Preferred: 12-18 months of NDT on aircraft powerplants (or a powerplant certificate), FAA Part 145 knowledge and turbine engine overhaul familiarity
