Structural Integrity Associates is adding a Level II examiner to its turbine and generator NDE team, based in Huntersville, North Carolina. The examiner combines nondestructive examination with engineering support to assess rotating equipment and related components for clients. Four years as a Level II examiner (or two with a degree), certification in a surface and a volumetric method and willingness to travel extensively are expected.

What the job involves
- Perform specialized turbine and generator NDE for clients using several methods
- Set up and calibrate equipment, run examinations to procedure, and interpret, evaluate and record results
- Carry out examinations independently and troubleshoot equipment
- Coach entry-level technicians and serve as a supervisor
- Work safely and follow written procedures and quality practices
What you need
- High school diploma or equivalent; college study in science, materials or engineering (AS/BS track) is desirable
- At least 4 years' experience as a Level II examiner in industry (2 years if you hold an AS/BS)
- Able to certify to Level II in MT or PT while onboarding and in UT or ET within six months
- Phased array UT, automated UT or gas turbine NDE experience is a plus
- Power plant or nuclear utility experience preferred
