What the job involves
- Carry out and interpret UT, RT, MT and PT inspections on manufactured and in-service parts
- Travel to customer premises for inspection work, sometimes staying overnight
- Record results in line with the governing procedures
- Act as the contact for customers with repeat inspection needs
- Keep personal NDT experience logs for certification renewals
- Gain further method qualifications, with training provided, and assist sales in technical discussions
What you need
- EN 4179 Level 2 (Level 3 welcome) in some or all of UT, PT, ET, RT and MT
- Phased array UT and array eddy current are desirable
- Logged experience hours for each method held, plus documented aerospace hours
- Inspection experience on metallic and composite parts, in manufacture or in service
- Category B driving licence and willingness to travel at short notice
- Able to obtain UK SC clearance; good spoken and written English
Pay and conditions
- Permanent, 37.5 hours a week with flexi-time
- 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays, with an option to buy up to a week more
- Pension, success share bonus and paid overtime; occasional extended hours or shift work
