Vast, which is developing commercial space stations, needs an NDE Level II inspector to work second shift at its Long Beach, California facility. The work centres on film and digital radiography of components, assemblies and welds, alongside other certified methods. Applicants need a current RT Level II certificate and three to five years of practical inspection work.

What the job involves
- Carry out RT, VT, PT, ET or other assigned NDE methods
- Radiograph parts, assemblies and weldments and evaluate discontinuities against codes and specifications
- Set up, calibrate and run radiographic and digital radiography systems and software
- Write inspection reports and keep documentation complete
- Follow radiation safety and EH&S rules and help improve NDE procedures
- Mentor junior inspectors and contractors
What you need
- High school diploma or equivalent; a technical certificate or associate degree is a plus
- Current NDE Level II to ASNT, NAS 410 or equivalent, including RT Level II
- 3 to 5 years of hands-on NDE work in aerospace, manufacturing or a related field
- IRRSP card preferred; new hires without one must obtain it within 3 months
- DR and CR experience strongly preferred; Radiation Safety Officer experience and AWS CWI are pluses
- Must be a US person under export control rules
Pay and conditions
- Pay: USD 33-49 per hour, as published by Vast.
- Second shift, full-time, non-exempt
- California pay range $33 to $49 per hour, plus company equity
- Overtime or weekends around mission milestones; lifting up to 25 lb and entering confined spaces
