Westinghouse Electric Company is hiring a Technician II to carry out nondestructive examinations at nuclear and non-nuclear power plants, based at its Waltz Mill facility in Madison, Pennsylvania. The technician performs and documents inspections, runs NDE and robotic equipment on customer sites and helps refine inspection techniques. Two years of hands-on NDE work at power plants, working knowledge of the ASME Code and readiness for up to 60% travel are required.

What the job involves
- Perform nondestructive examinations following written procedures
- Evaluate and record examination results to the applicable standards and specifications
- Interpret industry codes, standards and procedures for nuclear and non-nuclear work
- Help develop new inspection techniques and procedures and improve existing ones
- Run robotic inspection systems, NDE instruments and the related computer networks on customer sites
- Complete performance-based and safety training to gain and keep certifications
- Document any quality-related issues
What you need
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two or more years working as a technician
- 2+ years inspecting nuclear and other power plants with NDE, following approved codes and procedures
- Working knowledge of the ASME Code
- Able to hold unescorted access status and work with hazardous materials
- Able to lift 50-60 lb, climb ladders and work in industrial and radiological environments
Pay and conditions
- Pay: USD 55,238-83,979 per year, as published by Westinghouse Electric Company.
- Estimated base salary $55,238.36-$83,978.83 per year depending on experience, qualifications and skills
- Up to 60% travel, including spring and fall trips that can last weeks or months
- 12-hour day or night shifts, 6-7 days a week on site assignments
- On site at Waltz Mill five days a week when not travelling
