Bilfinger UK is looking for a Category 2 plant inspector to work full time at the DSM Dalry site in North Ayrshire. The inspector examines pressure systems and equipment under UKAS RG2, PSSR and COMAH requirements, reviews workpacks, directs plant and NDT inspectors and performs NDT when needed. Incorporated Engineer status with ASME Plant Inspector Level 2 or API 510 and 570 is required, and PCN Level 2 across UT, ET, DPI, MPI and radiography is desirable.

What the job involves
- Examine pressure systems and equipment within UKAS RG2, PSSR and COMAH requirements
- Write inspection reports that reference NDT results and review finished workpacks
- Contribute to near-term and long-range inspection planning and to risk-based inspection schemes, including non-intrusive options
- Carry out NDT in support of engineering inspection and look after on-site inspection kit
- Direct the work of plant and NDT inspectors to site safety and quality standards, raising permits as needed
- Monitor temporary repairs monthly and issue daily progress reports
What you need
- Incorporated Engineer with an HNC or NVQ Level 4 in engineering
- ASME Plant Inspector Level 2, or API 570 and API 510
- PCN Level 2 in UT, ET, DPI, MPI and radiography desirable
- Five or more years in a relevant engineering discipline, with at least one year in in-service pressure system inspection
- A suitable Category 3 inspector may be offered training up to Category 2
