Bilfinger UK is recruiting an NDT supervisor for its inspection team on the Hinkley Point C nuclear new-build project near Bridgwater, Somerset. The supervisor plans, resources and oversees NDT work, writes techniques and keeps radiography and other activities safe alongside other contractors, on a 14 days on, 14 days off rotation. PCN Level 2 in MPI and DPI is the minimum, with Level 3 preferred.

What the job involves

Plan, organise and supervise NDT scopes so they are delivered safely and on time
Walk down work areas beforehand and allocate technicians and equipment
Arrange permits, barriers, signage and PPE, and coordinate with other contractors on simultaneous operations
Attend daily radiography meetings and hand over fully to the opposite shift
Write NDT techniques to code and specification and give technical support on site
Complete point-of-work risk assessments, briefings and incident reports; help prepare RAMS
Monitor and audit the performance of NDT team members

What you need

PCN Level 2 in MPI and DPI at minimum; Level 3 preferred
Proven experience in a comparable supervisory NDT role
SMSTS and ILM qualifications are desirable
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines under pressure
Good written and spoken communication

Pay and conditions

Rotation of 14 days on and 14 days off
Permanent position on the Hinkley Point C project
