GE Vernova is hiring an NDT and quality inspection specialist at TGTS in Yokohama, a repair centre that services gas turbine parts for power plants outside North America. The specialist inspects combustor components using UT, PT, FPI and visual testing, carries out dimensional checks with CMM and blue light scanning, and handles inspection records and non-conforming parts. What the job involves
- Inspect gas turbine combustor parts to inspection procedures and quality criteria
- Detect and evaluate internal flaws with ultrasonic testing
- Find surface defects with penetrant and fluorescent penetrant testing, and judge damage visually
- Measure parts with calipers, micrometers, height gauges, arm-type 3D measuring equipment, CMM and blue light scanning
- Keep inspection records and traceability, and help isolate and investigate non-conforming parts
- Carry out routine checks and calibration of measuring equipment and support 5S
What you need
- Practical experience in quality inspection or NDT within manufacturing
- Hands-on ultrasonic testing experience
- Able to work from drawings and inspection procedures
- Basic PC skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Preferred: JSNDI certification such as UT or PT Level 2 or above
- Preferred: PT, FPI and VT experience and quality inspection of gas turbine, aircraft or heavy industry products to ASME, ASTM or ISO
