What the job involves
- Radiograph cast parts and sample sections to detect defects, cracks or foreign bodies
- Check radiation intensity and choose exposure, film type, distance and time using established techniques
- Operate the X-ray console, develop film and maintain processing chemistry
- Carry out daily processor and densitometer calibrations and set up measuring instruments
- Apply acceptance criteria, compile results into reports and keep scrap records
- Keep the area stocked and follow environment, health and safety programs
What you need
- Technical college diploma (DEC), preferably in metallurgy, or equivalent
- Level I certification already held, or a pass of at least 80% on the certification exam within the deadline
- Able to read customer specifications and drawings and understand quality control requirements
- Aptitude to progress to Level II certification
- Six months to a year of prior Level I experience is an asset
