L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Level II NDT inspector, certified in RT, DR, UT or PT, who is ready to step up to Level III at its Canoga Park, California site. Once Level III certified, the hire supports day-to-day NDT operations, reviews supplier technique sheets, audits NDT suppliers and maintains site specifications. Applicants must meet the NAS 410 experience-hour rules for Level III.

What the job involves

Check supplier NDT technique sheets against site specifications and drawings and agree changes with suppliers
Audit existing and prospective NDT suppliers and make sure requirements reach sub-tier suppliers
Write, review and approve NDT specifications and techniques with Level II staff
Train and examine Level I and Level II personnel
Prepare for customer and internal audits and lead corrective action reviews
Support inspectability reviews and help steer the NDT department

What you need

Bachelor's degree with 6+ years of quality experience, graduate degree with 4+, or 10+ years without a degree
Meet NAS 410 Table 5 minimums for Level III: 4 years as Level II without a degree, 2 years with a 2-year technical degree, or 1 year with a 4-year degree
Evidence of certification hours will be requested
Preferred: ASNT or NAS 410 Level III in RT, DR, UT or PT and testing experience on aerospace metallic products
Knowledge of NDT standards such as NAS 410, ASTM 1742, 1417 and 1444, and AMS-STD-2154

Pay and conditions

Pay: USD 96,000-178,000 per year, as published by L3Harris Technologies.
Onsite, 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off
Possible weekend work to meet customer needs
