SpaceX is recruiting a phased array NDE inspector for Starship production at Starbase, Texas. The inspector examines flight components and assemblies, reports indications to production and engineering, and helps build techniques for complex parts. Applicants need a Level II certificate in at least one NDE method, qualified to SNT-TC-1A, NAS 410 or DoD rules.

What the job involves
- Perform surface and volumetric examinations of Starship hardware, with a phased array focus
- Evaluate indications and explain results to production and engineering staff
- Review engineering drawings as inspections require
- Support technique development for complex geometries and qualification of critical processes
- Help train and develop colleagues
What you need
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Level II in at least one NDE method (for example PAUT, UT, ET, RT, DR, CR, PT, MT or VT) qualified to SNT-TC-1A, NAS 410 or DoD rules
- Preferred: 2+ years as an aerospace Level II, weld inspection experience, AWS CWI and UTEX InspectionWare or similar software
- Preferred: knowledge of NASA 5009 and AMS, AWS/ASME and ASTM standards
- ITAR eligibility: US citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee, or able to obtain export authorization
- Physically able to work at heights up to 500 ft, in confined spaces and wearing a respirator; a pre-employment physical may apply
Pay and conditions
- Overtime and weekend work when deadlines demand it
- Standing up to 10 hours a day, frequent climbing and lifting up to 50 lb
- Some work in temperatures above 80°F
