SGS's Supply Chain Services team in Surrey, British Columbia, is hiring a senior NDT inspector. The inspector checks castings, forgings, weldments and machined components by visual and NDT methods against drawings, client specifications and codes, frequently at client premises. Requirements include CGSB Level 2 in MT, PT and/or UT, five or more years of hands-on NDT, and CSA W178.2 visual inspection certification at Level 1 or higher.

What the job involves

Inspect castings, forgings, welds and machined parts using MT, PT, UT and visual techniques
Keep equipment calibrated and issue calibration certificates where needed
Carry out tests to approved procedures and specifications and evaluate the results
Tell the client promptly when non-compliance is found on site
Write clear reports, normally within 24 hours of completing the work
Maintain CWB, CGSB, NACE, API and other certifications and complete SGS training

What you need

CGSB Level 2 in MT, PT and/or UT (required)
5+ years of hands-on inspection with UT, PT and MT equipment
CSA W178.2 visual inspector, Level 1 minimum (Level 2 preferred)
Technical college diploma, or high school with significant relevant experience; valid driver's licence
Able to follow work instructions in French and English; phased array experience preferred
