Acuren is hiring phased array and shear wave ultrasonic technicians for callout and travel work in and around Akron, Ohio, mainly on pipelines. The technicians inspect for defects, evaluate results against codes and specifications and produce project reports. Five years of NDT experience and current certification in the relevant ultrasonic methods are required.

What the job involves
- Detect discontinuities using PAUT and shear wave UT
- Develop inspection techniques for approval by client certifying agents
- Evaluate results against applicable specifications and ASME and API requirements
- Review asset documentation and inspection data and complete integrity assessments, including site walkdowns
- Write project reports covering work done, conclusions and recommendations
- Identify and escalate risks to quality, budget and schedule
What you need
- High school diploma or equivalent, with college coursework a plus
- Five years of experience with NDT methods such as UT, PAUT, CR or DR
- Current certifications in the NDT methods used
- Thorough knowledge of ASME and API serviceability requirements
- Supervisory experience is an advantage
