  Is cathodic protection expensive?

  The underground contractor estimated the installation of these components would cost at $3,132 per anode bed, for a total of over $40, 700. To this point the cost to have the cathodic protection system installed had reached $114,100, which is more than eighteen times the cost of the encasement approach.
