Christchurch Engine Centre, a Pratt & Whitney and Air New Zealand joint venture that overhauls IAE V2500 engines, is filling two permanent full-time roles in its NDT team in Christchurch. After induction, the tradespeople process engine parts with NDT methods to approved data and company procedures, with full training provided. Applicants need a Level 4 trade qualification (or equivalent), five years of aviation maintenance experience and NAS 410/EN 4179 Level 2 in PT, MT, ET or UT.

What the job involves

Carry out NDT on engine components following approved data, customer specs and CEC procedures
Learn the NDT methods used to process engine parts
Record completed work in the company's computer system
Meet health and safety requirements in a safety-sensitive role

What you need

NZQA Level 4 (or equivalent) trade in aviation, automotive, mechanical, heavy diesel or similar, plus 5 years of aviation maintenance
NDT Level 2 to NAS 410/EN 4179 in penetrant, magnetic particle, eddy current or ultrasonic testing
Legally able to work in New Zealand; medical assessment plus drug and alcohol testing
Preferred: penetrant line experience in an engine shop, V2500 or GTF experience, ultrasonic immersion experience
Willing to work rotating shifts with overtime

Rotating shifts, with overtime paid at 1.5x–2.0x
