Oceaneering is hiring a radiation protection officer with rope access skills in Doha on a 12-month fixed-term contract. The RPO controls radiation safety during radiography, handles source transport under local rules and client requirements, and acts as radiographer within a two-person RT crew on oil and gas inspection work. Candidates need RPO training licensed by Qatar's Ministry of Municipality and Environment, IRATA Level 1 or 2, and at least five years in relevant inspection techniques.

What the job involves

Protect workers, the public and the environment from radiation during RT, applying ALARP and ministry instructions
Keep radiation safety equipment and PPE available and calibrated
Manage transport of radioactive sources to site, including notifications to the authorities and the client
Make the work area safe for NDT with permits, barriers and monitoring
Work as radiographer in a two-person crew and evaluate results against the specification
Ensure the crew wears TLD badges and that used dosimeters are sent back
Complete risk assessments, observation cards and regulatory reports

What you need

Science or engineering degree (or equivalent)
Recognised RPO training from an accredited centre, licensed by Qatar's Ministry of Municipality and Environment
IRATA Level 1 or 2 rope access certification
PCN or CSWIP certificates preferred; third-party ASNT holders must pass Oceaneering certification
Offshore medical, annual eye test and BOSIET
Minimum 5 years in relevant inspection techniques in oil and gas

Pay and conditions

Fixed-term contract of 12 months
Rope access work at client inspection sites
