What is Radiographic Testing?

A non-destructive method for detecting discontinuities in
materials and components using penetrating radiation to
produce an image on a recording medium.

Radiation Sources:

There are two kinds of radiation sources commonly using in
industry. They are,

  1. X-RAY
  2. GAMMA RAY

Properties:

X-Ray

  1. Invisible
  2. Travel in straight line at the speed of visible light.
  3. X-Ray pass through matter. The degree of penetration
    depends on the kind of matter and the energy of X-Ray.
