NDT Inspector

Assystem Energy & Infrastructure are recruiting for an NDT Operator
to work at our customers site in Derby on a long-term contract basis.

Role details:

Role title – NDT Inspector

Contract duration – 12 months

Contract type – PAYE via Umbrella – INSIDE IR35

Hours – 37 hours

Location – Derby Raynesway

Sector – Nuclear and Defence

Key accountabilities will include:

Work to client corporate procedures and local work instructions to carry
out inspection tasks on a variety of components.
The assessment of components using a variety of NDT techniques,
including Radiography and Ultrasonic
The interpretation of manufacturing drawings, customer drawings
and written specifications.
The assessment of whether the quality of components produced
meets the standards.
The ability to make decisions giving suitable justifications for your
conclusions.
Work within a team to effectively resolve quality issues.
Communicate requirements at all levels across the business.
Skills and experience required for this role:

Qualified in NDT disciplines with relevant experience.
PCN qualifications in Radiography (Welds) and Ultrasonic
(Welds or Wrought),
Time served apprenticeship and/or training programme.
Experience of how to operate radiographic testing equipment
safely.
Clear and demonstrated understanding of the limits of each
NDT technique, drawing interpretation and the importance
of calibration in NDT.
Experience of working with fabricated components, particularly
performing NDT on wrought products or weldments.
Problem solving / continuous improvement.
Experience in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
Security clearance
