Pre-Inspection Preparation 1. Drain water and wash the boiler thoroughly. 2. Remove man-hole and hand-hole plates, washout plugs, and inspection plugs in water column connections. 3. Cool and clean furnace and combustion chambers. 4. Remove grates from internally fired boilers.
