Can you please tell me if ultrasonic testing of stainless steel products is possible ?? I am talking about stainless steel welds. I have seen here that Phased Array can be performed but what about conventional ultrasonic testing?

Iridium 192, when shot with 30 curie for 45 mm thick weld joint, RT film (D7) is ok in terms of density and IQI but clarity is not there in the film.
Is it advisable to shoot such high thickness with Iridium, if so how to get good images?

What distance were you using shooting it for 45 minutes? If that was a Long Seam with the same thickness & Ci, I would've shot for a little under 9 mins per shot. What IQI are you using? Is D5 a possibility?
