    Dear Experts,
    wish u all to you happy new year.
    i wish to get your valuable advise as i am going to perform PAUT on power piping weld joints so i am covering full weld by one sectorial focal low the job thickness is 7.11 also i cached all required defect but my client is want one linear focal low also.i am tring to convince him but he is still want both sectorial and linear focal low in scan plan.
    kindly let me know how i can convince is there somewhere written about uses of focal lows.

    Is there a particular reason why would you *not* want to add a group for a linear E-scan? Detection of lack of fusion is extremely sensitive to incident angle. Just because your sectorial scan passes through the weld volume doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll be able to pick it up.
