NDT Supervisor Duties and Responsibilities
As an NDT Supervisor, your primary responsibility is to manage and supervise NDT technicians and inspectors. Here are some of the typical duties and responsibilities of an NDT Supervisor:
Overseeing the day-to-day activities of NDT technicians and inspectors, ensuring that all work is completed in accordance with established standards and procedures.
Coordinating and scheduling NDT activities, including the allocation of personnel and equipment, to ensure that all testing requirements are met.
Providing technical guidance and support to NDT technicians and inspectors, and ensuring that they are properly trained and certified.
Ensuring that all NDT equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and in good working order.
Reviewing and interpreting NDT test results to identify any defects or anomalies, and working with other professionals to develop appropriate corrective actions.
Ensuring that all NDT work is performed in a safe and efficient manner, and that all relevant safety protocols are followed.
Managing budgets, including tracking expenses and forecasting future costs, and working with other departments to ensure that resources are allocated effectively.
Maintaining accurate records of all NDT activities, including test results, equipment maintenance, and personnel certifications.
Communicating effectively with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure that all NDT requirements are understood and met.
Staying up-to-date with advances in NDT technology and techniques, and participating in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance your own knowledge and skills.
