    First to clear that I’m not a technical person and not aware about NDT (UT) test, so below question might be technically not perfect, hope you will understood my points from your expertise and well advice for the same.

    I have to make the components (Lug) by using the material grade SS-302 & 304 by round bar having size range from 6 mm to 20 mm.

    The said material is require for making the Lug (Not for electrical cables) for anchoring purpose only.

    Procedure for making the Lug;

    1. Round Bar which is the main raw material required in normalised condition with cold rolled condition.
    2. It will mould by hand forging and get to annealed which be suitable for machining.
    3. After compilation of machining required the heat treatment on Lug and the hardness limit is max 192 HB.
    4. Thereafter, polishing or plating is required for finishing purpose only.

    The users has not clearly specified the about the NDT (UT) testing, you are therefore requested to please elaborate me about the procedure and also the minimum thickness required for NDT (UT) test

    The ultrasonic test requirement is most probably a raw material requirement, in other words, the round bar which you start the manufacturing process with should be ultrasonic tested.
    The normal method of achieving this is to buy in raw material which has been ultrasonically tested. It is a more efficient process to UT test during manufacture.
